MLT-Houston Program and Recruiting Manager
Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Business Development, the Partner Relations Manager will be a key contributing member of the team; he or she will be responsible for driving the growth of MLT’s funding base from $5 to $10 million over the next three years by strengthening the organization’s relationships with its corporate and foundation partners. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of what it takes to be successful at a leading corporation, possesses a successful track record in relationship management and sales and enjoys working at a strategic level while simultaneously managing the details of various key accounts.
Responsibilities
- Act as MLT’s point person with executives and relationship managers at corporate and foundation partners
- Understand the needs and expectations of multiple “customer” audiences, including corporate partners, program participants and alumni, and program teams and coaches
- Work with MLT program staff to develop/implement initiatives that drive significant return on investment for MLT partners and facilitate high-impact career opportunities for MLT fellows
- Prepare partnership agreements and engagement proposals, as well as deliver renewal pitches to corporate partners
- Manage ongoing refinement of processes to onboard and build relationships with corporate partners (documentation, key metrics and touch points)
- Define and track key metrics and processes for ensuring partner satisfaction and ROI
Build deep relationships within sector- and industry-specific tracks, and share learnings and insights across MLT coaching staff - Define and build sustainable model for engaging “experienced hires” with corporate partners
- Attend occasional evening and weekend conferences and MLT events when partners are in attendance
Competencies, Experience & Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in account management, sales, or business development, preferably in a corporate or start-up business environment
- Proven experience interpreting and managing the needs of multiple “customers” and framing and communicating sustainable solutions
- Ability to move quickly between strategic thinking and execution capabilities
- Deep understanding what it takes to succeed within leading organizations and graduate schools
- Strong leadership presence with proven senior-level sales experience
- Ability to quickly distill client needs, industry context, and quantifiable learnings into a client-ready proposal and implementation plan
- Highly resourceful, with strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong sense of urgency to meet multiple external and internal deadlines
- Mastery of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience in consulting firm a plus
- MBA strongly preferred
The Programs Chief of Staff position reports to the VP, Talent Development and is responsible for acting as a liaison between the VP and internal and external constituents. He/she will assist in cultivating and nurturing relationships with other departments and program teams, as well as key MLT stakeholders (fellows/alumni, corporate and business school partners, and others), as well as assist in the planning and execution of both short- and long-range deliverables. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and communicate a clear vision of the big picture, milestones, and deliverables of projects to all involved parties
- Manage internal and external relationships and networks for the VP, Talent Development and ensure timely follow up
- Plan and direct projects, activities, and functions for the program teams with limited oversight from the VP, Talent Development
- Manage the performance management process for all programs staff
- Develop and manage program growth strategy and reporting of key performance indicators
- Craft presentations, conduct data analysis for MLT’s programs, and plan/run staff meetings
- Maintain a high degree of awareness/knowledge of current trends around talent development as well as diversity recruiting and retention at the college, MBA and corporate levels
- Monitor calendars and events to anticipate needs and scheduling requirements of the Vice President

The Director of College Programs will be responsible for MLT’s overall strategy development and day-to-day operations for the programs that support the college pipeline, including the highly successful Career Prep program. The ideal candidate will have a superior mix of strategic acumen, business experience, and attention to detail with an outstanding ability to build and manage relationships with program participants, MLT staff, and corporate and other partners. MLT actively maintains a collaborative yet entrepreneurial culture thus the ideal candidate must excel in a fast-paced environment that requires dealing with ambiguity.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute overall strategic vision for all college-level programming
- Refine program curriculum to drive participants’ skill development, and awareness and access to opportunities
- Develop and manage program staff, who are responsible for executing the programming, and team of coaches, who are responsible for delivering curriculum to the participants
- Guide Talent Recruitment team on ideal class profile and support their efforts to drive successful program recruit efforts
- Work closely with Partner Relations and Business Development to maintain and strengthen corporate partner relationships to enhance CP program execution and to build incremental returns for partners and program participants
- Oversee participant selection process to ensure that admitted candidates completed the program successfully and are prepared to excel on the job
- Work with VP of Talent Development and other program directors to enhance collaboration and consistency across programs and across MLT
- Develop and measure program metrics and report on activities and outcomes to the VP of Talent Recruitment

The Executive Assistant will be responsible for performing administrative duties for MLT’s senior leadership team (President, 2-3 Vice Presidents). Responsibilities may include screening calls, making travel and meeting arrangements, preparing reports, presentations and financial data, preparing training materials, and more. The ideal candidate will be an upbeat, personable and flexible team player who has strong computer and internet research skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to represent him/herself and MLT well at all times. This role is a great stepping-stone to many other opportunities available at MLT: program coordination, management, development, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Compose correspondence, reports, and presentations
- Arrange travel, prepare itinerary and act as point person for VPs; complete expense reports after trip
- Manage phone and email inquiries in a timely manner, leveraging entire MLT staff
- Prepare meeting agendas, logistics and (when necessary) record and distribute meeting notes
- Ensure discreet handling of all internal and external business
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of constituent contact information and other meaningful data
- Provide back up support as needed for other staff and office coordinator
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and calendar management skills, with a demonstrated ability to complete projects on a timely basis
- Strong attention to detail and flexibility in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in managing confidential data

MLT-Houston Program and Recruiting Manager
As Program Manager, you will be based in Houston, TX, and report directly to the Executive Director. You will be responsible for the health and growth of MLT-Houston’s programs. You will implement MLT-Houston programs, events, and initiatives. Additionally, you will recruit future classes by leveraging existing relationships and creating new ones. You will be responsible for reaching the aggressive organizational goals, including doubling the number of participants in MLT-Houston’s existing program within the next two years.
You will also roll out new regional initiatives, translating MLT’s national programs onto a local stage and expanding MLT-Houston’s participant base through sustained outreach. These and other growth goals will be accomplished in coordination with the efforts of MLT’s New York City headquarters.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement high-impact program curricula, seminars, and summits by working with MLT-Houston ED and corporate and nonprofit partners
- Manage day-to-day program execution, which includes thorough communicate with current program fellows and excellent event execution
- Devise and implement new strategies to keep Fellows and alumni engaged with MLT during and after the program
- Coach and assess Fellows on the following:
- Strengths and weaknesses and action plan development
- Leadership and self-awareness training
- Networking and relationship management
- Contribute to development of strategy to meet the ambitious growth goals set for the Houston Fellows Program
- Track program effectiveness by developing and maintaining metrics and reporting on activities and outcomes
- Implement new regional initiatives and programs that align with MLT’s broader objective
- Collaborate with Executive Director to design innovative programming that address the challenges that impact academic and professional success of under-represented groups
- Develop outreach materials with the assistance of the national marketing support
- Manage recruiting efforts through outreach to prospective applicants and Houston school administrators and non-profits, as well as fellow selection to build the strongest possible class of Houston Fellows
- Devise and deliver marketing initiative that build MLT name recognition among Houston schools and within the Houston community
- Additional responsibilities relating to the efficient operations of the office will also be required.
Competencies, Experience & Qualifications
- At least 5 years of post-college work experience with a successful track record, preferably in a service related organization
- Coaching, advising, and/or corporate recruiting experience preferred
- Self starter able to initiate projects and proactively follow-up on deliverables; Execution capability that focuses on excellent results
